Bro Ian Eachus, the WM elect 2014....

As reported by our roving investigative journalist, one time lawyer, Perry Mason, brother of editor, Abbey Mason & son of Jimmy Mason, big Ian has been under surveillance during the summer months, - SEE  Blue News # SH 3..

The big fella has been tracked to his home in Belvoir, also to the leafy suburbs around Stranmillis & to the MCFC 1st Belfast supporters club..............yes who the hell are they or is it.............. Alice!!!

This Bro has endeared himself to all brethren in the Lodge - but who is this English lad; this big fella; Man City supporter; our Steward of Charities & Senior Warden?

We have watched him parade round the Lodge room as Sen. & Jun. Deacon. It's plain to see for the well trained eye, ex-service types,  that this big fella carries himself with perfect precision, the wand held effortlessly a few inches above the ground; a ramrod straight back and a stride perfected by years of being marched by the accuracy of a pacing stick..-  Grenadier Guardsman, Cpl. Eachus knows a thing or two about ritual & ceremony...- He also probably knows every blade of grass in parts of Norn Iron, where few of us have previously trod, unless,  that is,  you are an Abbey RAC-er ( Red bros get this & know all CRAFT secrets !!) - Not to mention the other hot spots he has trodden. Germany, the Desert part 1.etc etc. A busy man in his youth..............

However, before that he was a RMP man. -  A career choice he made as a young boy, having watched fellow Manchurian, John Thaw in a B&W serial drama called "Red Cap" After a few years in the Redcaps, big Ian wanted some "real action" and asked for a transfer to the Guards and a few tours came as a result of that decision, including a wee tour or two of our wee beloved Norn Iron..

Fast forward if you will to today & you can observe the big fella at work in the leafy buds of BT9, at one of the oldest US consulates in the world, founded when that great Freemason, George Washington was first President. In this area you will see the big fella doing a great impersonation of the boys from MIB (Men in Black), complete with black suit, white shirt, black tie, dark glasses, ear phone and an annoying habit of taking into his wrist!!...Yes you have seen it all on TV & at the movies, but it is for real up there... When Perry observed Big Ian, he was deep in conversation with his wrist, but at the same time multi-tasking by reading a copy of a wee blue book, called CRAFT.........................

With the aid of binoculars, Perry could lip read & observe that the big fella was actually reading his ritual for WM over & over & over, but pretending to be talking to his wrist! - What a Man eh?

THERE IS more......................

It was the same up at his home in Belvoir, only Mrs Eachus was involved in making sure he knew his ritual. Big Ian was observed placing a blue collar over Mrs E's head and installing her in a chair at the kitchen table. The kids where placed around the kitchen on chairs looking anxious, like entered apprentices; Perry couldn't work out if it was the Sen. or Jun. warden being installed, but  Mrs E. & the kids looked well impressed and thought it a - "good game".............. - Perry wondered where the blue collar had come from - or maybe, he pondered that Mrs E was making CRAFT regalia now, in competition with the women up the Malone Road?

The MCFC supporters club was a bit of a surprise, as Perry did not realise that one existed or that enough support was about in Belfast to have a supporters club !!!!!!!!!!!! -  When Perry asked the fans gathered , he was told that this was the 1st Belfast supporters club and Perry then assumed that there may be 2, - but to assume, Jimmy Mason, his father warned him, could make an ass out of u and me !!  -  Were there actually two MCFC supporters clubs?

Once the Man City fans realised that Perry was a friend & bro. of Big Ian, the place settled down... They had a lotta good things to say about the big fella, none of which can be recorded here because of the serious bad language involved in expressing their opinions -  but none of it was really that bad.

However,  the MCFC supporters were really "p"  that Big Ian had given up on being Treasurer of their club to concentrate on his masonic activities, I repeat, really "p", but he was still a member, and a well-loved & respected one too, but not forgiven....

Perry reckoned their loss was our gain - we had ourselves a good man in Big Ian Eachus, soon to be our WM for 2014.
